Give Life a Chance

Did you know that a pint of blood could save up to three lives?

Well, we sure did. As 2019 steadily makes it’s way closer, our team at Pixajoy decided to team up with Rukun Tetangga Pekan Lama in order to organize, sponsor and host a blood donation campaign. Besides Pixajoy, some of the other sponsors included:

The event was held on the 21st of December (Friday) at Thunder Print Sdn. Bhd, from 9am to 2pm. With all the love and support we had received from the community over the past year, the blood donation campaign was the perfect way for us to return that love and give thanks to the community in a meaningful way.

As some of you might not know, on a daily average hospitals throughout Malaysia would require nearly 2,000 bags of blood in order to treat a little over 900 patients. Although the number might seem small, the fact that red blood cells can only last a maximum of 42 days, while platelets can only be kept for five to seven days poses a rather big problem.

Fortunately, we had quite an amazing turnout! A total of 175 people (comprised of staff and members of the public) turned up for the Give Life a Chance Blood Donation Drive and overall, we were able to donate a total number of 125 packs of blood (exceeding our original target of 100 packs) to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani.

Of course, we didn’t let our heroes walk away from the drive empty-handed! For their contributions, Pixajoy actually printed commemorative Photo Puzzles for each donor on the spot in order to show our appreciation.

Overall, the event was a total and complete success and a great way to wrap up 2018!
