Furthermore, photo notepads would also make great gifts for stationery lovers or to commemorate special events like weddings, anniversaries, Christening ceremonies and other such events.

In the blog post, we’ll be telling you everything that you need to know about Pixajoy’s new personalisable Photo Notepads. To find out more, just keep reading on.

What is a Photo Notepad?

A photo notepad is an assortment of writable, printed papers that have been bound together for the purpose of:

  • Recording notes
  • Writing (stray thoughts, goals, dreams, memos)
  • Drawing & sketching
  • Mind-mapping
  • Scrapbooking and so on.

Personalised photo notepads are favoured by both adults and children due to their design and portability. Due to their personalised designs, it’s easy to determine the owner of the stationary when it’s placed at the office or in class.

Additionally, the compact size and lightweight nature of the personalised photo notepads also makes them convenient to carry around everywhere via backpack, handbag, totes or school bags.

Why use a photo notepad?

In this digital age, some of you might be wondering why on earth would you still use a paper notepad when there are plenty of digital alternatives. Well, besides the satisfaction of putting pen to paper, there have been studies that showed that the simple act of writing things down by hand can actually help make people smarter

It might seem strange; maybe even a little primitive but note-taking using a pen and paper (in this case, a photo notepad) can really help people to stay more focused. This focused state of mind also allows people to listen better and participate in discussions as they also tend to be more ‘present’ during meetings and discussions.

When it comes to personalised stationery, it can be said that a photo notepad is more than just a fancy receptacle for thoughts and scribbles. It’s the ultimate productivity tool that helps you to unravel and unload your thoughts. By putting whatever is in your mind onto paper, you’ll be able to clear space in your brain and untangle your thoughts much easier now that you can see them in black and white.

In terms of business, personalised photo notepads (and other stationery items) can also give your business a leg up over your competitors. Not only will it be able to help reinforce your brand, but it can also help to keep your brand image cohesive.

The Material

A single paper notepad has many advantages when pitted against a modern-day digital tablet. Some of the advantages include the fact that:

  • They don’t need to be charged before use.
  • Anyone can use them – regardless of age.
  • They’re much cheaper and portable.
  • They’re very satisfying to write on (something technology has yet to be able to properly reproduce).

To satisfy your creative needs, the personalised photo notepad was designed using 140gsm thick Simili paper – a type of smooth, thick writing paper that is highly suitable for printing black & white as well as coloured images. In addition, the thickness of the paper also allows for you to jot down notes, draw or even paint on the paper with various mediums without the worry of the inks or colours bleeding through to stain the back pages.

The Binding

Unlike the rest of the writable products in our personalised stationery category (like the photo notebooks or deluxe notebooks), which utilises ring or side-sewn binding, the personalisable photo notepad features a unique ‘tear-away’ style binding. Just like the name would imply, this ‘tear away’ style binding ensures that you can remove pages from your notepad as needed without damaging any of the unused pages.

This is made possible due to the utilisation of padding glue – a thin film of low-tack adhesive (or padding cement) that fastens the paper sheets together along one side of the photo notepad’s edges.

The Size, Pages & Designs

We’ve mentioned before that the personalisable photo notepads were designed to be lightweight and portable. In terms of size, the photo notepads measure 8”x5.5” (roughly around A5 size) – making it easy to carry around anywhere and everywhere. The size also makes it fairly comfortable to write or draw on – not too small that you’ll have to cram your writings, but not too large that it’ll leave you feeling guilty for using a page just to jot down a simple reminder or memo.

In terms of pages, the photo notepad comes with 80 writable pages. Based on your preference, the front of each page can feature no design, a singular design or even up to 5 different designs throughout the entire photo notepad. Currently, we have a dozen of different template designs that you can try to personalise your own photo notebook – ranging from purely decorative to productive templates.

If you’re a designer or feeling particularly inspired, you can also opt to design your personalisable photo notepad from scratch!

In addition, the personalised photo notepads can also be turned into one of a kind gifts for office mates, students or even stationery lovers – adding a pop of colour and thoughtful sentiments to an otherwise totally utilitarian item.
