5 Simple Things You Can Do to Enjoy Everyday of Your Life

by | Apr 5, 2021 | Facts, Inspiration

Every day is a new day, a new opportunity to be the best version of yourself and make every moment count. But it’s often easier said than done, as the busy world we’re living in continues to place demands on our time and our daily life experiences.

Though it’s not a bad thing to be busy and ambitious, it is indeed bad if you’re always caught up in the treadmill and feel you’re just getting by-which really shouldn’t be the case as life is too short to be in a continuous rat race and miserable in a day-to-day basis.

Now, we’re not saying that every day has to be a bright and cheery day. We all have good days and bad days, but what’s most important is that we make the best out of each day of our life and live our life to the fullest.

Fortunately, there are several things we can do relatively effortlessly to make ourselves becoming more conscious and alive as we start to soak up more of what life has to offer. Read on to find out 5 simple things you can do to enjoy your everyday life.

Practice Gratitude

“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all others.”~Cicero

Having an attitude of gratitude is a powerful emotion that can make one’s life better in so many ways. It is an art that allows you to become aware, recognise, and appreciate all the wonderful things that happen in your life and guide your experiences towards a positive feeling that’ll bring in a feel-good factor in your behaviour and actions.

Though this feeling is something that’ll happen on its own, sometimes you just need to put some effort and practice it to have a more optimistic view towards life. A few simple things you can do to practice gratitude are :

  • Write things down in a notebook

  • Capture and cherish every good moment.
  • Show appreciation to someone

Creating a habit of writing whether things you’re feeling grateful for, your goals or simply about your personal thoughts can be helpful in keeping you calm and focus on good things in your life. Not only it is a cheaper therapy for stress relief but it’ll also make a   great reminder of the good things and moments around you.

Other than that capturing your best moments and cherishing them in form of photo prints or anything you can hold will also be a great way to practise gratitude, as they’ll also act as reminders of the blessings in your life.

Make Time to Relax

In today’s on-the-go society, making time for yourself to relax between work, family, and social obligations can be hard. But it’s extremely important to find the time to relax any day, any time and anywhere.

Being always on the go, desperate to tick things off long-to do lists and over-scheduling yourself without downtime,  can negatively affect your emotional and physical health, as well as your ability to maintain healthy relationships.

This is because when you’re too busy, you may end up overextending yourself with varied obligations, appointments, commitments, and responsibilities that’ll lead to an increase in stress- leaving you unable to engage fully in your relationships or concentrate on your well-being.

So, no matter how busy you are in your daily life, it’s important to learn how to create time for chilling and also how to best relax. Whether you want to do your fav DIY projects, taking a short nap with comfy throw pillows, going for a walk, or simply read a book,  making time for yourself is a great way to  keep your stress levels down.

Track How You’re Spending Your Time

“How we spend our days is of course how we spend our lives,”- Annie Dillard

Have you ever felt frustrated about not being able to clear up your to-do list? Do you retire to bed disappointed and condemning yourself for a week or month wasted? If your answer is “yes”, then it means you’re losing the track of your time. Time wastage is very real, costly and can make your life stressful. In most cases, this happens because you have no clear understanding of how you’re spending your leisure time no matter what you think your priorities are.

For example, you might think that you’re spending you’re time right and being efficient enough, as you have tasks to complete or a clear to-do-list to keep you in direction, but as soon as you embark on your work, you’ll unconsciously start engaging in activities which are not relevant to your goals. So, to avoid getting distracted and create a much more meaningful and fulfilling life, it’s quite important to track your daily activities. One of the best ways to do so is by keeping a notebook that you can carry around and a calendar with you.

Having a personal notebook, to write down your personal goals, to-do list and your daily activities will make you more aware of where your minutes go throughout the day. This is because, writing down each half-hour, of how you spent your time during the previous half-hour and looking over it when you have about a week’s worth of data, will help you to identify the activities that you are misusing, or wasting your time.

Other than that, planning and scheduling important events, time for yourself and your family with a calendar is also a great way that’ll lead you to a more relaxed and happier life. When you plan and schedule your time for your goals, yourself, and your family- you’ll be able to manage your time more efficiently and have more frequent good moods, which leads to benefits in health, happiness, and life.

Try Something New

New experiences that lie on the edge of our comfort zone is usually where growth and hapiness is. The comfort of what’s known is is a space where often many of us find ourselves sitting in for  a very long time. It could be as simple as staying in the same job,  although you know deep down that you’re capable of more, having a normal routine life or having the same hobbies that’ll you’ll go for when you’re bored.

But how can you stay happy everyday if you’re always stick to your daily routine and by not changing any of the things that you do? Think about it: when you spend the majority of your day doing things you’ve already done hundreds or thousands of times before, you’re not going to gain any new experiences, learn anything new or find something that can uplift your spirit. Hence, you’ll just be living a mundane life.

But when you tend to do something that you’ve never done before, whether you’re getting crafty, you’re into home decors or something adventures, the fresh experience you gain will reinvigorate your life with energy and excitement.

Create and Record Happy Moments

Happy Memories are very important as they’re powerful, serves as a reminder, guide and inform us as we actively shape our experiences,  relationships and life stories.

When you experience a happy moment- be it moments of laughing, the first rays of the spring, the best meal you had, graduation ceremony or baby birth, you’ll tend to live and enjoy the moment. But how many of you actually record them?

Since happy moments can be a source of motivation and a reminder of the blessings in your life, recording your daily moment in prints, photo books or something that you could hold should be an amazing way to go.
