5 Reasons Why We Still Buy Paper Calendars.

by | Jan 16, 2019 | Inspiration

Calendars are handy little things that can help keep us organized and on track. I’m pretty sure that a good majority of us would be absolutely lost without a calendar to help remind us about some of our daily tasks, such as when our next doctor’s appointment going to be, the next project due date or even something simple like birthdays (because let’s face it, sometimes these things just completely slip out of our minds due to the hustle and bustle of daily life).

That being said, we’re here to explain why people still buy paper calendars when in theory, this analogue device should have been superseded by newer technology (such as smartphones and tablets).

Sets the mood for the Year

Even among the most digitally-up-to-date, the appeal of beautifully designed calendars is unlikely to fade any time soon. This is simply because they serve both a decorative function alongside a functional one. Paper calendars can bring people together around a common focal point and it also gives them a physical representation of the new year (and a clean slate) to look forward to.

Additionally (and this might sound a bit stereotypical), but the little bit of wall in the office or above the phone at home would look positively barren without a calendar hanging there.

A Great Keepsake

Some would say that having a paper calendar in this day and age is archaic, but there’s actually a lot of benefits to owning or making a personalized calendar. For example, you can actually transform your calendars into a sort of life journal.

While a lot of people find journaling to be a relaxing activity, not all of us have the time for it. What you can do is utilize your calendars to the best of its abilities. Simply pen down any interesting little factoids, ideas or reflections you’ve had directly onto your calendar. By the end of the year, you’ll have a calendar that’s been filled with interesting anecdotes that you can keep as a journal.

Boost creativity.

It’s 2019 and we’ve come a long way from plain, boring looking calendars. Nowadays it’s pretty common for people to showcase their creativity by taking that one extra step and designing their very own unique calendars; just to add a touch more personalization to something that would have been quite standard.

Some people like to pin photos or ticket stubs onto their calendars while others enjoy doodling over important dates to help remind them about appointments or anniversaries. Some might even put in a secret code so that they can hide information in plain sight! Either way, these creative decorations is one surefire way to ensure that your calendar is uniquely yours.

Fits the decor.

Nowadays, calendars come in varying sizes, shapes, colours and style; making it easy to incorporate them into your home or workplace. For example, you can have a colourful, cartoon themed calendar to put in a kindergarten or a bold but elegantly designed one to put in the boardrooms and offices.

Additionally, there are many types of calendars to choose from (like desk calendars, wall calendars, poster calendars, etc…) that will fit your personal aesthetics and match up with your home or office decor.

It can motivate us.

Having a calendar not only helps you keep organized, but it can also help to keep you feeling motivated. Imagine owning a bespoke calendar that features pictures of your loved ones or your dream holiday destinations in each month.

Not only will it be a sight for sore eyes, but when you’re not feeling your best, just glancing at it can help motivate you to keep on going.

So in summary, physical calendars can be fun, beautiful, quirky and functional! They’re great for keeping us on task and to ensure that nothing slips our minds. Plus, there’s something that needs to be said about bespoke calendars and how they’re able to motivate us to accomplish our tasks by reminding us about the truly important things in life.

If you still don’t get what we’re going on about, why not create your own bespoke calendar today and experience it for yourself!
